Never did I think this idea would become a reality!

For a long time I had the idea of creating and hosting my own fitness/wellness event, different to anything I'd been to before. A lot of events I've been to, or seen in the past, have only included the calmer, slower components like yoga and sound therapy and to be different I wanted to include something with a higher intensity. This is where the Yin & Yang name came from; the Yin being higher intensity/faster components and Yang being the slower/calmer components.

Organising this event was also part of my fundraising for MIND, who I am running London Royal Parks Half Marathon for in October. If you'd like to donate head over to my JustGiving page - www.justgiving.com/page/nathandyas

Putting this together became quite a challenge when it came to finding other practitioners that would be free and a venue that would be free on the date I had in mind. In the end I managed to find practitioners for a mindfulness workshop, a yoga class, tuning fork sound therapy and someone to cater my event and then I would teach a Boxercise class.

The schedule I put together for the event went like this:

  • We started the day with a little introduction of how the day will flow and a chance for all the participants to meet each other.

  • The first class was Boxercise to set everyone up for the day, and get the blood pumping

  • Up next came a nutritious snack to replenish everyone's energy, before we moved onto our mindfulness practices, with Blissful Being, to calm the body down and de-stress.

  • We then moved onto a relaxing yoga session with Katie and finished off the day, with a calming tuning fork therapy session with Steve.

  • To round off the day we ended with more nutritious food and time to chat.

I loved putting this event together and the feedback everyone has given me has been amazing, including them all asking when the next event is going to be.

Check out the video below to see what we got up to on the day.

I've got a few ideas on what to do for my next event and couple of practitioners lined up who are interested, so keep your eyes peeled for whats coming next....
